There’s nothing like starting out your Friday with a sweet video of Waverley on the verge of breakdown. Sometimes– most of the time– she doesn’t even really know what she wants, she just knows she feels the need express her woes. Her emotional range seems to be increasing each month as she is capable of experiencing some high highs and low lows, all for our pleasure! Thank you, Waverley! A few more of Waverley’s Weekly Woes, if you’re itching to know what living with a toddler is all about:
- Her parents suggested she take a bath first, then play since she poured soup on her head at dinner. It was not a well-received idea.
- Howie sniffed her magnets.
- She wanted to climb into her car seat herself.
- She did not want a cheese quesadilla approximately 20 seconds after asking for one.
- She needed a spoon, not a fork.
- She wanted to go potty, but not sit on the potty.
- She did not want those pajamas!
- She wants to live with her cousin.
- Her mother did not have the appropriate snacks in the car upon school pick-up.
- She felt she truly deserved much more ice cream than she received.
- She did not want mama to read stories, only dada.
- Her other cousin (whom she hasn’t seen in a month) pushed her. About a month ago.
- She wanted to put on her pajamas by herself. DO. NOT. TOUCH.
- Her favorite unicorn towel was dirty.
Phew! I am so glad it’s Friday. The end of the semester has brought more frequently long days as my students prepare for finals and complete their practicums. We are looking forward to a quick weekend trip down to Oregon this weekend for my oldest nephew’s First Communion. I am excited to spend time with family and enjoy warm weather– it’s supposed to be in the 80s which will surely feel like the tropics compared to the high 40s we’ve been having in Anchorage! We will be that crazy family who is traveling with an unpredictable toddler, a puppy (we’ve never flown with a dog in the cabin), and a giant pregnant belly. I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!
