Compared to last year’s extravaganza, Waverley’s birthday celebration this year was quite mellow. We did not have a big party yet opted for a few small, intimate gatherings. We celebrated with her favorite pals (all boys PS), time for just the three of us, and family. This turned her birthday celebration into four days of cake, presents, and singing rather than one giant blowout. Now she does not quite understand that a birthday is just one day and keeps saying “It’s my birthday!” to anyone who will listen. I wanted to keep everything very simple because, to be honest, I still have a little case of PTSD from how much work her party was last year. This year, her birthday ended up being a perfect weekend with just the right amount of extra effort to make things special yet not so much work I couldn’t enjoy the celebration with her. And isn’t that what is important? Here are a few pictures of the easy decor (read: leftover from last year) and food.

I love the streamers! Happy bday Waverley!!!! We just celebrated Soleil’s bday for the third time last night. It was super fun, but I think even she’s ready to move on 😉
