In a mere 11 days from today, Nate and I will be headed to Europe. You may be thinking, “Oh silly Lesleigh, you left out Waverley’s name.” Well, I didn’t. I really didn’t because she is staying home. My mixed emotions about the topic are better left for another post as I am still suffering from PTSD from our trip to Hawaii with her. Nate and I are fulfilling a five year goal which is to visit Paris for our fifth wedding anniversary. We are first going to Germany to visit my dearest friend who recently moved there with her family. After a week of beer and pretzels we will drive to France to spend a week enjoying croissants and wine. I am extremely excited! Now that I’m officially on summer vacation, it is time to focus on a very vital task: creating my European packing list. The timing of this trip doesn’t guarantee warm summer weather every day, so I am focusing on versatile layers for when the sun goes down or hides behind a cloud. I am also trying to maintain a coordinating and neutral color palette to ensure pieces can be mix-and-matched seamlessly (and will allow for the addition of scarves found on street corners in Paris). I am aiming for pieces that can be dressed up or down and keep me comfortable.
1. A lightweight striped shirt
3. Denim shorts
4. A soft and light sweater
5. A bucket bag that fits all of my essentials
6. The perfect everyday lip balm
7. A leather + bouclé jacket (on sale!) for layering in the evening
8. The perfect DSLR camera for traveling: it’s light, compact, and takes great pictures
9. My new favorite t-shirt, plus gray won’t show dirt as quickly when traveling
10. A linen t-shirt to pair with everything
11. Comfortable sandals for walking miles and miles in new places
12. High-waisted jeans that keep everything tucked in (and will hopefully hide all of the aforementioned food/beverage consumption)
13. A cool chambray shirtdress
14. A breathable sweater for layering or on its own
15. A midi skirt that cinches in at the waist
17. A tunic button-up that can be worn in so many ways (tied, down, layered)
What am I missing? What is on your vacation packing list? I hope you all have a great weekend!
