Waverley is a delightfully happy and smiley little gal. Once she’s gotten comfortable with someone she doesn’t conceal her seemingly never-ending joy. People comment all the time how happy and easy she is and how she probably never has a bad day. Well, friends, this simply isn’t true. She is still a moody and slightly unpredictable Baby/Toddler Hybrid that comes with the territory of being 18 months-old. I’ve been known to have meltdowns myself when she starts one of hers, yet really the only thing a parent can do is laugh. Laugh at how ridiculous the situation is. Laugh at the silliness or frivolity of the reason behind the tears. Laugh because it won’t always be like this. (Wait, is this what my parents thought to themselves while I was in high school??) Nate and I have started to chronicle the cause of her baby/toddler angst because some of these are just too funny to forget. If you think you’re having a rough week, just imagine what it is like to be Waverley.
- She was given a wheat bunny cracker instead of a cheddar bunny cracker.
- We came in from outside. It was 37 degrees.
- Nate and I were dancing to our wedding song. She hated it.
- She wanted to be held.
- No, no. She wanted down.
- She did not want to wear a sweater dress.
- She wanted to wear a bow.
- No, no. She did not want a bow in her hair.
- It was time for a bath.
- She was not allowed to eat Charlie’s treat.
- She was so “unry” (hungry) for dinner.
- She threw her dinner and was put in timeout.
- She wanted to eat her toothpaste.
- She wanted to stop on every stair to drink milk.
- She wanted more books!
- No, no. Not that book!
Happy Friday everyone! I hope you have a great weekend!
