Do you ever have those rare moments when everything seems just right? When you’re completely happy and can’t believe how fortunate you are to be experiencing it? I’ll be honest, these elusive moments don’t happen to me very often unless I’m searching for it (hence My Happiness Project), yet I believe that the spontaneous occurrences of contentment are what happiness and bliss are truly made of. On the weekends we have always been a bit slow to get going and are no different now with a little one. We’ve always enjoyed drinking coffee in bed yet now also snuggle with our wiggly babe while she climbs all over. We slowly wake up, listen to her talk with such unintelligible earnestness, and question (yet again) why she insists on waking up so early on the weekends. This past Saturday morning I was overcome with utter gratefulness for my little family and how blessed we are in life. It was a true (albeit fleeting) moment of contentment and bliss, and I was completely caught off guard.
Happy hump day to you; I hope you have many moments of bliss ahead.
{I was a bit too excited for this very important milestone: Waverley’s own beverage at our favorite coffee shop! She had a few sips of her steamer and was pretty much over it.}
{Nate and Waverley had a daddy/daughter day this weekend and it was a wonderful experience for everyone. I had a brilliant day to myself and Nate learned a cold hard lesson about the importance of feeding babies their lunch.}
{Waverley + Charlie on Halloween.}
{This was the first year I actually went to the polls (I usually fill out an absentee ballot) and I felt truly satisfied and purposeful with the experience. I was happy to bring Waverley and hope she’ll always appreciate the privilege of voting.}
{Friday afternoons when Waverley naps are my absolute favorite of everything. During the rest of the week there are a thousand things to do during her precious sleeping hours, yet on Fridays the to-do list just doesn’t matter. It’s peaceful, quiet, and relaxing. And always made better with coffee and a treat from Fire Island Rustic Bakeshop.}
