I’ve been doing quite a bit of reading on happiness lately; how to feel it, how to achieve it, where to find it. The two most common denominators among all of the theories and research are being grateful for what you have and living in a place you love, preferably near friends and family. While I am trying (I promise, I really am) to start up a love affair with Alaska and make buckets of new friends, it is slow-going. To pick myself up and not dwell on the sadness I feel regarding my living situation and family’s loss, I am going to attempt to highlight a few things each week that make me happy and bring joy. I hope you like it and perhaps can help keep me accountable for seeking joy rather than lingering in sadness.

Great reminder this Wednesday morning! Even with family and friends close by, it is easy for one to slip into periods of unhappiness. Seems so silly when you stop and look at all the beauty and blessings around. I recently added the saying “Train your mind to see the good in everything” as my phone’s wallpaper. Seeing this little saying constantly throughout my day helps me remind myself how much happiness I have in my life, and the importance of enjoying it.
p.s. wish you could braid my hair every day <3

That’s a great saying! It’s easy to forget to focus on happiness. We can remind each other to do it.
PS I plan to post a how-to on French braiding so you can master it yourself!:)
