This past weekend we took advantage of the beautiful weather and went hiking both Saturday and Sunday. Sunday’s hike was truly perfect…and reminded me how out of shape I still am after having these babes! Yikes! I thought my lungs were going to burst as we climbed what felt like a completely vertical incline. Nate wore Waverley on his back and basically skipped around like the true mountain sheep he is. I wore Magnolia and took a solid pause every 10 feet or so to, you know, breath. Magnolia essentially broke out of her carrier in order to climb the mountain like her dad. Once we got to the top we ate blueberries (Magnolia consumed her fair share of dirt as well), pretended we were on The Sound of Music, and picked enough blueberries to bring home an entire bucket full. I am making a blueberry cobbler!
On our way down we took an easier route. Despite that I still took a fall– thankfully Magnolia and I were fine, although she did wake up from her slumber. I scratched my arm and thought I was legitimately gushing blood. I am so hardcore, I thought to myself. I can’t wait to show Nate. Well, there was not a single drop of blood to show for my fall. Just a tiny scratch near my elbow. But, you guys, it really burned.
