Happy Friday! As you may recall, two weeks ago I mentioned I was expecting my family up for a fun visit. The men headed out hunting and the mommas stayed with all the littles. My sister, sister-in-law, and I corralled five children ranging in age from 8 months to 8 years-old. It was a fun and exhausting 11 days! I realized I am not cut out to have that many children on my own and I have no idea how parents who do manage. It’s utter chaos. I am looking forward to a low-key Halloween weekend including dinner with friends, taking Waverley trick-or-treating for the first time (she’s dressing up as Daniel Tiger, naturally), and squeezing in some alone time on Sunday. I hope you have a wonderful Halloween weekend!
Waverley experienced many woes during her cousins’ visit. She may have a twinge of Only Child Syndrome + is not used to having kids take over her specials very often. Clearly I need to arrange a few more playdates at our house! One of her cousins, Paige, is only two months older than her so tensions ran high between them. One minute they were blissfully happy and giggling; the next minute they were crying hysterically. Having two toddlers is truly a rollercoaster ride of emotions! I can hardly imagine twins! How do you gals manage! Many of her woes are simply due to living the hard knock life of a toddler who isn’t used to sharing. Woe is Waverley. Here is what seriously bummed her out this past week:
- Paige touched her hair.
- Paige checked her diaper for poop.
- Carter tried to talk to the babysitter.
- She will only eat off of baby spoons.
- She did not want to sit in a high chair at the restaurant.
- She wanted the epic vanilla steamer topped with whipped cream and sprinkles that her older cousins had.
- She wanted out of the stroller.
- She wanted in the stroller.
- She wanted to walk.
- She wanted to be carried.
- She did not want to clean up.
- Paige borrowed her sunglasses.
- Her Auntie offered to hold her.
- She refused to try on her new snow boots.
- She refused to try on her new cozy Ugg boots.
- She will only wear her rain boots, regardless of the weather.
- She did not want to share her stool with Paige.
- She did not want to sit at the kids’ table for dinner.
- She did not want to feed herself.
- Her Auntie offered to put her in her high chair.
- She refused assistance brushing her teeth.
- She did not want anyone to stand in her cardboard box with her.
- She refused to drink out of her water bottle and insisted on drinking out of a cup and then spilled water everywhere.
- Paige touched her spoon.
- Paige looked at her spoon.
I just can’t wait until these girls are teenagers.

So, you probably don’t know this because it’s borderline creepy, but I actually have this tab on my favorites under the folder “therapeutic”. Whenever I’m stressed/upset/disgruntled, I think “what would waverly do?” No joke.

Okay this is not creepy at all! In fact you just made my week! I love that Waverley’s tantrums make you feel better about life. Seriously, What Would Waverley Do? It should be a thing!:)
