Happy, happy Friday! Today is such a wonderful day! I am thrilled to have my family– the whole lot of them– coming to visit. The men folk are heading out on an eight day hunt for goats and moose where they’ll be traversing mountain sides and sleeping in below freezing temperatures. No, thank you! The gals and I will stay with the thousand children who are inhabiting my house (five, including Waverley) and I’ll be showing them all around Anchorage. Hooray! Things will be a little quiet around pearls on a string next week so I can fully enjoy their company and soak in every second of family time. When you live far away from everyone, each minute needs to be cherished. Make sure to follow me along on Instagram and Facebook, because I’ll be sharing a lot of our adventures! Plus, I may have gotten all the kids matching moose pajamas, so there’s that. Have a wonderful weekend!
Of course it wouldn’t be Friday without Waverley’s Weekly Woes! Now that she is officially two years-old (what?), her mood swings are growing quite rampant and steep. I LOVE IT. More than her mood swings, though, is now at two she is developing impressing stalling skills. The girl knows how to get what she wants. Here is what caused her to flip this week:
- She had to get in the car after her nap. To the airport. To pick up her mother.
- She haaaates sitting on her potty chair. She dislikes it even more when performing the act solo.
- She did not receive a round of applause after taking a large bite at dinner.
- She had to choose between two toys to play with. She wanted both!
- She fell down a stair. She wasn’t hurt; she just gets so mad when she has a tumble.
- Her parents will not let her out of the house in her pajamas.
- She demands to eat every meal with a baby spoon and her food must be in bowl.
- She had to take off her rain suit when we came inside.
- Trying on snow boots is torture.
- It’s unacceptable that her parents may have work to do.
- Her birthday is over.
Like I always say, she is going to have a really strong sense of character when she’s older thanks to these daily trials in her early years. Do you have a toddler who has illogical meltdowns? They are my favorite. I’d love to hear what causes your little one to lose it! Please share in the comments!
