Happy Friday! I hope you had a lovely week. I know a lot of you may have had kiddos heading back to school, which is sure exciting! Waverley is starting “school” on Monday and I am just thrilled! I know she will have a blast. I also know I will really appreciate the extra few hours I can work solo each week. I’ve been back from Oregon for a week now and, as always, the transition from traveling to home has been rough with some unexpected bumps in the road. I realized I hadn’t written a “my happiness project” post in a while and they always help me retain a good and grateful perspective. So I thought it was the perfect time to emphasize what has been going well and what is making me happy! Tonight I am looking forward to a date night and then reconnecting with friends who moved away on Saturday. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
Last weekend we took a drive to the Kenai River in Alaska. It was my first time there and even on a rainy and foggy day the bright blue water was breathtaking! It is one of Nate’s favorite places to fish and people come from all over the world to fish there. Nate likened it to shopping at the original Chanel in Paris:)
So the best and most unexpected part of our trip to the Kenai River was the delicious surprise that is Dude’s Food Trailer! He makes amazing and fresh doughnuts. If you’re ever wondering if you “need three doughnuts for the road,” the answer is always yes. I am contemplating the two hour drive back just for those.
Fresh steamed mussels + wine + a baguette from my favorite bakery = Sunday dinner perfection.
I was thrilled that Nate’s and my anniversary photoshoot was featured on Inspired By This last week! What an honor! Head on over to read the full story. Also check back here next week for the rest of the unpublished images:)
I LOVE having visitors! My sweet cousin stopped in for a quick visit and we had a blast. Having family close is such a luxury and I can’t wait to live closer to mine!
My favorite indulgence in life: a beautiful and delicious latte + a pastry. I went behind the scenes to the best coffee house in town and learned all sorts of tips for the perfect cup of coffee. Full post coming soon!
