If you’ve been following this blog or my Instagram lately, then you probably noticed I possess a deep affinity for simple t-shirts. I have been seeking to improve my jeans + t-shirt game even more since becoming a mother and moving to a very casual environment. I think a simple t-shirt can look incredibly chic if it fits well and is made of quality materials. Sometimes there is literally only 60 seconds of free time to get dressed with a toddler running a muck (who’s with me?), so I always reach for easy-to-wear basics. My favorite t-shirts help me feel somewhat put together even when paired with jeans, which is pretty much my daily mom uniform. Someone asked where I get all of my t-shirts from, so I compiled a list of the best t-shirts for all of you! I hope you find this helpful!
Best Long-Sleeve: T BY ALEXANDER WANG LONG SLEEVE POCKET TEE, which is cute enough to wear on its own yet sleek enough to wear as a base layer. I love the longer fit, which ensures everything stays covered when bending over to pick up little ones!
Best White: RAG & BONE/JEAN ‘THE CLASSIC’ SLUBBED COTTON TEE– This is especially great for tucking into skirts (à la here and here) and holds its shape throughout the day.
Best Black: SHEER SLUB CREW NECK TEE– I love the hem detailing and the not-too-high crew neckline, because I usually prefer v-necks.
Best Very Casual: CURRENT/ELLIOTT ‘THE V-NECK’ TEE– It is incredibly comfortable! I also have this in white and love it. If you are looking for the most versatile then this is the one.
Best Linen: J.CREW LINEN V-NECK POCKET TEE– This tee has been through frequent wear for over a year. It’s perfect for summer and comes in a rainbow of colors. And metallic! I am also partial to this linen tee, but the price tag is a bit higher (although it is on sale!).
Best Lace: VINCE LACE TEE (on sale!)- I love how this lace is not too dainty so I don’t have to worry about monster toddler hands ruining it in a blink.
Best Casual/Slimming: RAG & BONE/JEAN CLASSIC V-NECK TEE– It must be the addition of rayon in this shirt that makes it hang just so, but I live in this. If I had to wear one piece of clothing for all of eternity it might be this shirt! It has a tiny amount of spandex, too, which provides a workout quality texture that makes it ideal for summer. It is great for traveling since it doesn’t wrinkle or show signs of moisture!
Best “Little” Shirt: VINCE ‘LITTLE BOY’ TEE– I prefer the v-neck in this style as the crew neck really seems to accentuate my swimmer’s shoulders. This is the perfect little t-shirt without being too tight or revealing. I also like this shirt (especially its price!), but it doesn’t stand up to as many washes.
These shirts pretty much entail my daily wardrobe, whether I am pairing them with pants, skirts, or shorts. They are in constant rotation! The three other things I am wearing: these jeans (they are called slim illusion, so essentially every gal’s dream), I live in these tank tops underneath everything, and I am wearing this bra– which is perfect for t-shirts. What are your favorite t-shirts?

I have been on a quest to find the perfect t-shirt for sometime now! I finally found the Madewell slub v-neck pocket tee, which I love love love. I think I might need to give the Jcrew linen t-shirt you featured a try 🙂

Oh yes, I think the J.Crew linen t-shirt fits similarly to the Madewell v-neck! I think you will love it:)
