I was utterly bursting with excitement upon waking up on our first morning in Paris! There were so many things on our must-see list and only a few days to do it. I’d been to Paris one time prior to this trip; I was 21 and stopped there when studying abroad during undergrad. I was excited to experience the same city through a different perspective this time around, by someone who has a greater appreciation for fine food, red wine, art, history, and the gift that traveling is. At 21 years of age I barely possessed any of those affinities! Also, staying somewhere without holes in the walls provided a different perspective as well. Goodbye college student hostels! Hello perfectly located VRBO.
Nate had never been to Paris and I was thrilled for us to experience this together. Our agenda for the first day included a few non-negotiables: breakfast at Ladurée, exploring Musée du Louvre, browsing at the original Chanel, a stop at Chloé and Céline, and Notre-Dame de Paris (which happened to be right across the street from our apartment). We certainly earned our frites and treats! We must have walked at least 10 miles this first day! I think it is always the best way to experience the most out of a city because you just never know what you’re going to see when passing by tiny alleys or cute shops.
I wanted to feel comfortable for miles of walking yet also cute…I mean, we were in Paris after all! It was overcast and cool when we left in the morning so I wore my favorite pants ever (these black jeans), a loose white button-down tunic (which has been on constant rotation since I got it) with a stretchy jean jacket, and casual sneakers.
Nate and I were starving for iced coffees throughout the first part of our trip! They are surprisingly difficult to come by in certain parts of Europe. We stumbled upon Café Kitsuné where we had delicious iced lattes and they even made them for take away (another thing that is hard to come by!). It was the perfect mid-morning boost to keep on trucking!
For dinner that night we ended up eating at a street market. Everything looked and smelled amazing! We stocked up on salami, olives, and dried fruit first then had some sort of mixed meat and veggie sandwiches. My favorite part was that even though we were eating at a food truck they served champagne in a glass. It was incredible!

Ah I love this post! Glad you had an amazing trip. If I remember correctly we were so terrified of our first accommodations that we changed to a hotel after night one. One of my favorite memories from the Paris stop was eating across from Sacré-Coeur and trying escargot for the first time.
