As you can imagine, evidenced by this picture, it is hard to be Waverley. I mean, if you can believe it, we dared to bring her to a park last weekend. A park! You may wonder what could she possibly be so mad about. Well, here is a list of her weekly woes.
- She had to wait (with company) in a parked car for approximately three minutes.
- She was offered water.
- She put snacks in her own mouth.
- Her sandwich was not cut to her desired specifications.
- …. (Sometimes we just don’t know what the root cause is.)
- She desperately wanted to wash her hands, as she was unintelligibly screaming “Cooorn!” (That means “clean hands,” obviously.)
- Other kids at the park wanted to pet Charlie.
- She wanted to swing.
- No, no. She hated the swing.
- She neither wanted to go down the slide nor down the stairs. Rather, she wanted to plug up traffic on the jungle gym and survey the minions beneath her.
- “Shoes! Shoes! Shoes!” = Boots!
- She did not like the song being sung in story time. She really prefers “Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes” and not “Ten Little Fingers.”
I think she’s going to have a really strong sense of character due to battling these trials and tribulations on a daily basis. I hope you had a great week and have a lovely weekend!
PS Can you believe today is Nate’s and my fifth wedding anniversary? We are going out for a low-key dinner so we can contemplate how in the world we’ve been married for half of a decade. More to come on that on Monday!
