I first obtained my passport in 2005 as a junior in college prepping to study abroad. The expiration, 10 years from that date, is 2015. At the time that seemed like such an eternity away. I could not fathom the year 2015! 2015 might as well have been a futuristic dream involving flying cars and computers as phones (err…). So, I can hardly believe 2015 is upon me. And you. And everyone. 2014 has not been an especially pleasant 12 months for me yet despite the year’s events I am grateful I have been led back to this blog. It has broadened my perspectives, inspired me to hone new skills, introduced me to new people, promoted my creativity, and encouraged me to maintain a portion of my self through a year of exceptional changes.
I’m extremely grateful to all of you who continue to check in each day and read, comment, and share what you find. Each connection provides me the motivation to continue putting my thoughts and ideas out in the world, which is actually completely terrifying. Thank you for making it less terrifying and for providing so much support. I truly, whole-heartedly appreciate it!
I’ve been reviewing pearls on a string’s year and love learning what struck a cord with you all and what didn’t. I would never have guessed that the most popular post was the most popular post. I also am shocked at my own bravery with sharing my most personal post, which was featured on Scary Mommy to boot. I’d love to know what you like, what you despise, what you want more of, and what makes you cringe reading. Please let me know! But first, here’s a rundown of the aforementioned “best of 2014” posts and a few others that made the list. I hope you all have a happy and relaxing New Year! Cheers!
