If anyone has worked at a children’s hospital and actually worked with the kiddos, not behind a desk, then you know how precarious the clothing situation is. Wear nice clothes and imminent risk exists of them being ruined by drool, snot, and other bodily fluids. And dresses are out of the question due to the need to crawl around on the floor during treatment. I see how easy it is for therapists to fall into a frumpy rut which is precisely my Biggest Fear In Life. I believe that dressing appropriately and tasteful fosters professionalism and respect among other healthcare practitioners. I am constantly attempting to figure out how to create this perfect balance.
My first go-to for updating a work outfit (read: uninspired khakis and a shirt/sweater) are bright, adorable flats. My most recent purchase that I am excited to bust out are exactly that. These super comfy and colorful Tory Burch loafers can be found here. I plan to wear them at work and for play with straight leg jeans and dresses.

You’re lucky you get to still look cute and wear pretty shoes and accessories in your job! I wish I could do that – I work in direct care with clients and my wardrobe is mostly jeans and hoodies. Sundays have become my “pretty” day. I miss being able to look all cute and made up for my previous work. Your blog reminds me that it’s in the little things we do that can still make us (women) feel gorgeous even with different circumstances! 🙂
