I recently debated with a friend what is more difficult: getting dressed while pregnant or in the early postpartum days. For me, it is hands down the postpartum days. There is just so much to consider, from ease of breastfeeding to finding clothes that fit and do not irritate my cesarean incision. (For her, however, it is dressing the bump.) I struggled with the idea of showcasing my postpartum style because I often feel the least bit stylish and every bit uncomfortable in my own skin. I am not one of those women whose bodies bounce back quickly! After having Waverley, it took 18 months to feel normal again. However, I know there are other gals out there who struggle with this as well–so this is for you:) My number one go-to for postpartum dressing (when I need to leave the house) is a cozy, open cardigan. I truly live in these! The timing of fall works out perfectly because cozy open sweaters compliment nearly any outfit; even simple jeans, a loose t-shirt, and slip-on sneakers. They hide the extra bulk in the midsection yet can also look casual chic at the same. Dressed, done, and off to enjoy the outside world.
