Happy Valentine’s Day weekend! Do you have fun plans? Regardless of who you are spending it with I hope you have a sweet weekend filled with love. I’ve always loved Valentine’s Day (even when I spent year after year celebrating my single status) and indulging in sweet treats and pink + red everything. Two years ago, though, my association with Valentine’s Day changed forever when I spent the day at our family’s beloved priest’s funeral while my dad was in the hospital learning he had six weeks left to live. I’ll never shake the sadness that February 14th now brings to my mind. However! I thought I could introduce some happiness and perhaps spark new associations with a special announcement…

I’m pregnant!

We are thrilled to welcome a new little babe into our family, due in August. I am officially in my second trimester now and so glad the awful morning sickness and exhaustion are mostly gone! This pregnancy has been so different yet also so similar to my pregnancy with Waverley. I’m just happy it’s been over a week since I’ve thrown up, which I hope means I am done with that phase! (Scratch that. Back to Day Zero.) One thing I’ve found surprising is how early I popped compared to my last pregnancy. I feel like I’ve been “showing” since I was 9 weeks along! So if you’ve been wondering if I’ve been eating too many doughnuts or growing a tiny human, well…the answer is both!
