I’ve definitely needed this push for appreciating the little things lately as the overwhelming weight of the big things seems difficult to handle. The state of my (un)employment, student loans, a mourning heart, distance from friends … it’s a lot. Some days it just seems more magnified than others. (Why is that?) Fortunately, I have you all to remind me to keep my head up and remember how fortunate I truly am. Bless your heart! Here are my happy thoughts for the week:
{Legend has it that when the blooms reach the top there are only six weeks left until winter. I am happy to have some more time before those blooms get there. I’m a little nervous for my first real Alaskan winter!}
{Our favorite bakery, Fire Island Rustic Bakeshop, is legitimately good (not just Alaska good) and has delicious French macarons. I might just survive!}
{This girl has been working on those top teeth for a while and we are happpppppy they are here!}
{My first attempt at canning (orange marmalade) was a success! Stay tuned next week when I share a recipe for the Croque Madame I used it in. Delicious.}
{This guy just rocking a rainy day diaper change in the car with a wiggly babe. No easy feat!}

That marmalade looks seriously delicious, looking forward to you sharing the recipe! I made strawberry jam recently and I think my favourite part of jamming is that my whole house smells like the inside of a jelly donut š Keep you head up, moving to a new place is so tough but definitely an adventure!

Thanks Mahsa! We move around a lot and it is definitely an adventure! Living inside a jelly donut sounds pretty lovely, I adore that analogy:)
