Today I am beyond thrilled to host a giveaway courtesy of my favorite baby gear brand, 4moms. I could not have survived Waverley’s first months without the mamaRoo. (You may remember reading about it as one of my newborn essentials.) We tried several other swings at friends’ and family’s houses before finally taking the plunge with the mamaRoo, which is less of a swing and more of a third set of arms. It was the best decision. Like ever. Anything that can put/keep your baby to sleep so you can get a few things done (like unpack a new house) is as vital to survival as coffee. Since we moved into a teeny tiny house we also appreciate how small and compact it is, unlike so many other baby swings that seem to take up half the living room. This made it super easy to move throughout the house and assemble/dissemble as well. The multiple movement settings offered are incredibly useful because, you know, sometimes Waverley just wasn’t in a rocking mood but thoroughly enjoyed some ocean waves. It does come with pre-set music yet also provides the ability to connect your own MP3 player if your baby likes to jam to something else. Waverley is a big fan of the Rockabye Baby collection therefore that feature came in extra handy. It also plugs into the wall rather than requiring an endless supply of batteries and comes in a variety of colors to match your own decor.
From a more clinical view point as an occupational therapist, here is what I love about the 4moms mamaRoo:
- The adjustable seat offers more positioning options than simply reclining, which is great for newborns and older infants. Or, if a baby has an issue such as reflux, maintaining the upright positioning is beneficial to provide an elevated head.
- Maintaining the upright position also promotes environmental exploration by allowing the babe to see what is going on in the room.
- The newborn insert is a great addition for newborns and smaller babes for promoting proper positioning and ensuring their little heads remain in midline.
- The reversible toy balls offer black/white contrast and bright colors for visual stimulation.
- The different motions mimic real movements of being held, which is comforting and calming.
The mamaRoo is the epitome of baby function and style together. If you have a little one, are expecting, or are looking to bring the best gift ever to a baby shower then this giveaway is for you!

We will be in no way unpacked by the time this little guy comes, so I could use an extra set of hands! Also, dying over Waverley’s stupid little teeth!

I know! Her teeth are ridiculous!

This is so much nicer than the FB Papasan swing that took up 1/2 the room and used endless amounts of batteries.

I’ve been watching other babies in the NICU using these swings. My twins are still too tiny to use them, but I’m excited for the day we can, and would love to have one at home!
